I didn’t have long with my Stargazer Lilies this year. An awful fungus attacked all four of my plants. I did manage to get a few nice photographs before they all shriveled. Over the winter I plan to dig up the bulbs and transplant them to a pot I’ll keep on the deck. I’m hoping next year they will be happy and healthy.
Photograph taken with my iPhone 3G and a Photojojo Macro lens.
The color is beautiful, anyway. I bought some Stargazer lilies a few years ago. The local deer really loved them.
Sandy, we have a lot of deer here and I even thought they might try eating them, so I put a little fence around them. LOL But even the deer wouldn’t touch them. The colors were extraordinary. I’ll get them transplanted this winter and look forward to next summer’s flowers. 🙂
Beautiful, vibrant orange. They are my favorite lilly. They drop saffron pollen which is the only drawback to having them in the house. Too bad that yours fizzled this year.
They are gorgeous flowers. I’m grateful for even the little bit of time I had with them.
I don’t particularly like lilies, but I do like your photo! Glad you have a game plan for next year, since you like them so much. It is a bummer when a brief life at best is cut short.
