Guess what? It’s August and the sun set this evening before 9 p.m. š SFSignal also published their massive list of August book releases! Here are my picks.
Breakdown by Katherine Amt Hanna
Crackpot Palace by Jeffrey Ford
Reaper by K.D. McEntire
*Amazon says Reaper is available to purchase, but the publication date still says August 24th. I’ve read it, loved it and will have a review next week.
Seven Wonders by Adam Christopher Ā (Reading now and undecided…)
Mockingbird by Chuck Wendig
Wrayth by Philippa Ballantine
Total Recall by Philip K. Dick
The First Last Unicorn and other Beginnings by Peter S. Beagle
Synners by Pat Cadigan
I am interested in reading Total Recall by Philip K. Dick. I wonder what liberties ‘they’ take in the movie? So many great tales by a/the master of scifi … and yet I haven’t read a one. Everything else on your list looks interesting, too. As you know I love cover art, so the book by Mr. F looks c.r.e.e.p.y with that freehand drawing (?) featured. Will await your review … as always. š
Jan, I have only ever read his novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep (what inspired Blade Runner). I keep meaning to read more of his novels and short stories. I did go ahead and buy Total Recall, it was only $0.99. It’s a short story–the original short story was not called Total Recall, if I remember correctly. I’m going to read it before I see the film. š
