Today’s art is my self-portrait painting for the Art House Co-op’s Self-Portrait Project. I and 763 other artists were sent a 4 x 4 inch gallery wrapped canvas to interpret our faces. When I signed up for the project I thought my hands would be doing better, but I’m still struggling with a lot of pain. I’ve been avoiding painting with acrylic on canvas for this very reason. It was 10x more painful creating this little portrait than working on one of my larger watercolors!! But I did it and now it’s on its way to the Brookyn Art Library. On August 16th there will be an exhibition at the Brooklyn Art Library. If you’re local or planning a trip I hope you’ll snap a few photos for me!
I love this! What talent!
Thank you!! I was just over at your blog too. 😀
First of all. Very sorry for your pain. I’m happy that you are still painting in spite of it. Your self portrait speaks volumes.
Thank you, Gretchen. 🙂 I do miss working in acrylics sometimes. Hopefully I can do the occasional canvas painting in the future. I’m so relieved I was able to pull this little painting off. I mailed it in on the last day!
You are even more beautiful than your portrait Amanda. Gosh, I wish that you didn’t have pain when doing art … but that said/written, you are such an inspiration to me Amanda! 🙂
