Today’s token art post is a fine art print from my Etsy shop, Nest of Stone. The original watercolor painting sold sometime last year. Part of me was sad to see it go, but I know it’s cherished every day. I’ve since sold several prints on Etsy and FineArtAmerica and just this past Sunday it was featured on the front page of Etsy! Nest of Stone was inspired by a pen and ink drawing I did several years ago; which portrayed a Kildeer’s nest. Kildeers lay their eggs on the ground, usually among rocks to camouflage the eggs. They aren’t the only birds to do this, but for some reason I was tickled most by the Kildeer’s nest.
Beautiful. And eventho’ I know these are stones, I can imagine them craddling Kildeer eggs … but wait, what’s a Kildeer? lol. Anyhow, irregardless of my warped sense of humor, I do love how you paint Amanda. 🙂
Hehe 😀 Thanks, Jan!
