Adrienne Rich, poem, poet, poetry, quote
My friend and blogging bud, Jan, introduced me to Adrienne Rich yesterday. You can read her post on the blog of the University Book Store, Seattle–The Shelf Life. Ever since reading her article I’ve had these words stuck in my head, so I decided to create a little artwork featuring one of my instagram photos in the background. The words come from Rich’s poem, Transcendental Etude. Adrienne Rich passed away in late March, just before National Poetry Writing Month. The poem I write today for NaPoWriMo will probably be inspired by the words she has left behind.
This makes me so happy! I like that you put the words in CAPS … perfect!
Thanks for leaving that lovely message at my blog … you rock!
Have you taken a peek at the volume of poetry that just won the Pulitzer? Life on Mars, by Tracy K. Smith. I only just glanced at it, but it looks good … with a contemporary edge to it, from what I could tell. I also, after this month, would like to look at the other poetry prizes given out recently. If I can just remember … lol.
I’m glad you like it! Feel free to save a copy for yourself. 🙂
I haven’t checked that yet. Maybe by the weekend I’ll have a spare few minutes.
