Signs and Symbols is one of my favorite paintings. It may be simple, but sometimes the most simple of images is the most powerful. The objects portrayed, the turquoise stone, the key, the totem pebble, are actual objects I’ve had in my possession for more than fifteen years. I’ve kept them in a small knit bag that I usually hung in my bedroom. It now hangs in my studio. Last year I realized I had not opened that little bag in many years. When I did, I knew I must paint them.
Funny how things that we don’t even remember we have. When we find them, it’s like Christmas! Great painting!
Thanks, Kimmy! So true too, about it being Christmas again!
You know, it’s one of my favorites of yours also. The first time I ever looked in your shop I fell in love with that still life and the Tree Frog. I love a ton more, but those were instant loves.
Thank you!! It’s always nice to know when others see a painting as I do.
lovely sacred painting of lovely sacred objects … 😀
Thanks, Jan!
