When I’m not writing or reading you might find me wandering around taking photographs. Photography is a relaxing and often meditative hobby I’ve enjoyed since I was ten years old. I like finding hidden beauty and it’s a quiet hobby, one that takes concentration and silence. Photography takes  me away from my troubles and clears my head. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic X-15, a hand-me-down I cherished.

When I graduated high school in 1994 I received my first SLR camera. I took it everywhere and was heartbroken when someone stole it from my car. Eventually I moved into the digital age and my photos quadrupled. I probably have more photography on my laptop than I do images of my art. In the last few months I’ve become fascinated by the photograph I can take with my iPhone 3G. It’s a great camera for on the go and with Instagram and other Apps I’ve begun to turn my photos into art. But I’m still taking photographs with my digital camera, like this one from Black Friday:

I will admit though, I have been taking more photographs with my iPhone than my digital camera. It’s become a game, to see how good a photo I can take with such a little camera. Here are some of my favorites I’ve altered through Instagram (you can see all my Instagram photos here):

And now you know what I do in my spare time. 😉
