For the next several weeks I’m going to use Wednesday’s to share art for sale in my Etsy shop. Signs and Symbols is an original watercolor painting, 6 x 8 inches. Here’s the story behind these objects:
I have a small knit bag from Columbia; which I bought at a market many years ago. It’s a tiny little thing for storing tiny little treasures. Inside I keep a turquoise stone (my favorite stone), an old key from our family’s 100+ yr old home in Virginia, and a pebble with a tribal horse silhouette. These three items have not left the tiny little bag in about 15 years!! I decided it was time to paint this little trio of treasure.
I really love this painting. I am a collector of special small things, rocks, feathers, leaves, man made old pieces. These things that I keep speak to me. It is nice to hear about your collection.
Gwen I’m the same way. I collect all sorts of things from nature as you know, as well as old skeleton keys and other old objects. I even have a horse bit from the Civil War. I’ll see something and feel an awe come over me. They speak to me as well and act as my muse.
