Overwinter
by David Wellington
Sequel to Frostbite
Cheyenne Clark—a woman whose hatred for werewolves has turned her into the very beast she most despises—prowls the Arctic Circle on the trail of an ancient secret, hunting for the one thing that could remove the lycanthropic curse and make her human again.
Yet standing between Chey and her goal are a werewolf hunter armed with a diabolically brilliant weapon, a centuries-old werewolf with her own mysterious agenda…and Chey’s own complicated feelings for the man who doomed her to this existence but on whom her life now depends.
Worse, with every hour that passes, the wolf inside Chey becomes more powerful. It won’t be long before the woman disappears completely, and only the beast is left. (via Goodreads)
Wellington is a favorite author I don’t mention often enough. I first became acquainted with his books while living in the UK. I read Monster Island, Monster Nation and Monster Planet back to back. If you are loving the current zombie craze in fiction I highly recommend these books. Last year I stumbled upon Frostbite at the Athens-Clarke County Library. I thought, Wellington + Zombies = Awesome so Wellington + Werewolves = Definite Awesome. Oh, was I right.
Sounds interesting — and never heard of this author! So, might see if I can find a book of his. 🙂
He’s not an author who’s name I see floating around a lot; which is a shame because I think he’s an exceptional writer. He also has some vampire books, but I’ve not read those.
