Feeding my daughter’s habit, a.k.a. The YA Fall Book Releases (the ones she cares about):
Vanish by Sophie Jordan
Lost in Time by Melissa de la Cruz
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick*
I read/reviewed an ARC of Crescendo last year–OMG the ending!
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa*
Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
The Death Cure by James Dashner
Destined by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast
Reckoning by Lili St. Crow
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
Obviously, she won’t be getting all of these at once. More than a few will be Christmas presents. Inheritance we will be pre-ordering since she’s been going nuts about the book for the last nine months. 😉
You put Julie Kagawa on your YA author list and your daughter’s list, but I have to say that so far I can’t get past the cover art. IMHO = Bleck! Tell me more … should you care to sway me to reconsider.
I’m not too crazy about the covers myself but as the saying goes, you should never judge a book by its cover.
The series is magical! Midsummer Night’s Dream + Fairies + Adventure + a human girl who is the daughter of the Summer King. It’s beyond awesome. Took me ages to convince my daughter to read the series and now she is hooked. 😀
I will say that I am not yet tempted, fairies or faeries are not usually my thing & Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of my least favorite of the bard’s tales. But I do like that good lit can hide behind a bad or many bad covers. Thanks Amanda. 😀
Fair enough. 😉
