Well. Not really…

I’ve been recovering these past few days from day trips I took with my daughter and mother. We visited The Lost Sea in Sweetwater, TN as well as Rock City in Chattanooga.

Lost Sea Caverns

The Lost Sea is part of the Craighead Caverns and includes the World’s second largest underground lake. I love caverns, but the tour of this system was disappointing. The guides were typical teenagers, who you could tell, really didn’t want to be there. I didn’t learn nearly as much as I wanted to, but I still enjoyed the visual experience.

Lost Sea Most Awesome Tunnel

The tunnel leading in and out of the caverns was just as impressive. I’ve been thinking about this image I took of my daughter ever since. Yes, I do believe there is a story hidden in these caverns.

At Rock City we traveled in the opposite direction, rising high above Chattanooga.

Rock City, Chattanooga

We had a lot of fun. Some of us had a bit too much fun…

Entrance to Fairyland

And then, there were the gnomes. Don’t even get me started.

Gnomes plus Moonshine is a lethal combination

We also visited the Ocmulgee Mounds in Macon, Ga., but I’ll share that adventure for another time. As I mentioned, this week is Spring Break for my daughter. Though it’s almost over now, I will not be back to regular blogging till next week. 😉
