I stumbled out of bed this morning with on thing on my mind. Coffee. Lot’s of coffee. Once that was settled I sat down to begin checking my email and other messages around the web. DeviantART was my third stop on this morning ritual. I made a little face when I saw there were 109 messages in my inbox. Did I forget to clear my inbox last night? Whatever the cause, I knew then it was going to be a long morning. But when I opened the messages my confusion multiplied tenfold. My inbox was full of messages on one specific artwork, from my gallery! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and began to investigate the various messages.

Then it became clear.

WOW!! That’s me–awiakta. It’s my screen name for deviantART that I began using online back in 2005. It’s a nickname an old friend gave me when we were young teens. I don’t use it anywhere else now, but on deviantART. It means Doe’s Eyes in Cherokee. 🙂

Power Source by Amanda Makepeace

If you recall, Power Source was one of my personal favorites from the art I created in 2010. Now it would seem that hundreds of people have made it their favorite too! I can’t express how blown away I am right now.  Twitter friend and author Bree, of MoiraRogersBree, joined me in my excitement. Check out her blog post: Did You Say Steampunk Fractal?! Yay!! And on top of that she bought prints! Thank you, Bree!! 😀

What a morning. I am still sifting through the now hundreds of fav’s and comments and will continue to do so till I give thanks to everyone at deviantART. My 6th birthday at DA is tomorrow and I can’t think of a better gift than all the support I’ve received. Thank you, everyone!
