Gallery of Horror 1983 – Evening Reviews
~ The Typewriter
by David Morrell
One Word Review: Predictable
My first foray into Gallery of Horror was more like watching a Twilight Zone episode. Young, struggling writer finds magical typewriter which helps him become a millionaire. But as always, he loses it all. There really was not anything creepy or scary about this story. The instant the typewriter begins mysteriously typing all on its own the reader knows what is bound to happen.
Regardless, the story was well written, just not what I would call horror. I gave it 3/5 skulls.
The Author: David Morrell is a Canadian novelist from Kitchener, Ontario, who has been living in the United States for a number of years. Hmm, I think I voted for this one! Definitely sounds like classic Twilight Zone.
