Writing on Wednesday is my weekly feature for sharing great writing tips I’ve found around the web. As an aspiring writer I’m always open to advice from other more experienced writers and often authors.
1. Top 5 Free eBooks for Fiction Writers – I’ve not had a chance to check these out, but free is free, and it can’t hurt to see they are of any value.
2. How to Keep Writing When Your Inner Critic Screams – I don’t know about you, but I deal with this issue on a regular basis. Whether it’s with my writing or my art, I have to work hard to squelch the voice of insecurity.
3. The 10 Free Resources Every Writer Needs – Everything from writing resources to query letters and publishing.
4. Obsessive Compulsive Editing Disorder – The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? I won’t deny it, this is a huge issue for me. It’s encouraging to read about other writers struggling with the same problems and read how they are coping.
5. ‘Anyone who keeps working is not a failure. He or she may not be a great writer, but if they apply the old-fashioned virtues of hard, constant labour, they’ll eventually make some kind of career for themselves as a writer.’ — Ray Bradbury
Amanda –
I love this feature. I have noted that you do not an rss feed for this blog only mail subscriptions…. why is that. Makes it tough for us really busy folks who need all thier blogs in one place.
By the way I hope your feeling better with your surgery and all.
Cheers.
You can do RSS! Just click on the RSS button in the address bar, then you can add it to Google Reader or your RSS reader of choice. 🙂 I know how you feel though – I’d be lost without Google Reader! And, yes, I’m doing a lot better – maybe not 100% but close. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for my digestive system to catch up.
Hi Amanda, I am honoured that you included that post in your Writing on Wednesday feature.
Thanks for the effort of putting these links up. As you might have guessed I jumped straight over to No. 4.
You’re very welcome! I’m just becoming acquainted with your blog and look forward to future posts! 😉
Yikes Amanda…. so are you only on soft food?
So are you going to paint Whitby Abbey? your should! I can email you some pics or you should try fliccr – blue mountian….
I tried to do the rss and it just goes into email subscriptions….you may want to check it. Or I am a double dunce which is common enough. lol…
No, more than soft food, but limited diet. There are a lot of things I can’t have till my body adjusts to life without a gall bladder. Spicy foods – no Mexican. 😦 Dairy products and anything with a high fat content.
I should paint Whitby Abbey!! (thinking cap is on)
That’s strange about the RSS. Well, here is the RSS feed address: https://almakepeace.wordpress.com/feed/
You can plug that into any reader. Hope that helps. I will have to investigate that Feedburner thing – maybe it’s interfering.
It is for me.. not working …. when I link on it goes directly into email subscriber mode………cheers… 🙂
No Mexican ever again???? Oh NO!
OMG! No, not never again. Just for about the next three months! 😀
