Both day three and four of my recovery were highlighted by my digestive systems mini-uprising. I won’t go into details. I’m sure you can use your imaginations. So far, it would appear we have a truce going into day five. Pain is localized to the incision sites which is a blessing. All in all, things are not too bad. I’m fatigued but that’s to be expected.

Yesterday I worked on my first fractal since the surgery, Ghost in the Machine:

Ghost in the Machine was the tile of Arthur Koestler’s 1967 book of the same title. Put simply the ghosts in the machine are humanity’s more primitive instincts/emotions/behaviors that we like to think we’ve evolved away from, but still hold sway in our societies and lives.

Today I’m hoping to begin work on a digital painting for the EBSQ Spam & Trout Show. The show is a biennial event at EBSQ and this year there is prize money! I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish in time, but I’m going to give it a shot.

Monday is my post-operative appointment, oh joy. I’ll be happy as long as there is no poking involved.

Also on Monday, I hope to have my review of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Handling the Undead. All I can say now, is it’s the most unusual book I’ve read in 2010.
