I met with the surgeon today for about fifteen minutes. There was no examination; which was a relief after all of the poking and prodding this week. He looked over my chart and history and said, “It’s time to let your gall bladder go.” Well, maybe not in those exact words, but you get the point. Tomorrow I have a preop appointment at Athens Regional Medical Center and on Monday I will have surgery. My mother had surgery to remove her gall bladder so I’m familiar with the procedure and recovery time.

But… As much as I know about the procedure it’s a little creepy to think someone is going to make small incisions into my abdomen, while I’m asleep. Freaky.
